Website cookies – is an encrypted text files created when you entered the web page. Data files are stored on the Internet browser and contain information about the user and user experience usually including the IP address, history of the web browser, or log-in information. Website cookies are separate for two different types (Plusnet, 2022):

Session cookie

These types of cookies are created temporarily and usually end when the browser is closed. Session cookies are stored in the browser and are not collecting any personal data, usually are used for e-commerce purposes to transfer information from one page to another (Plusnet, 2022).

Stored cookie

Type of cookies that collect personal data and store them on your hard drive until expiry. This type of cookie helps with user expiries on the web for example filling the log-in detail in the browser which was collected during the login the first time (Plusnet, 2022).



UI also called user interface is a visualisation design that interacts with humans on the point of contact with the computer, website, or application. The main purpose of the UI is to provide users with the easiest and most intuitive experience possible. The user interface includes both input and output devices, they are also some types of UI which includes:

  • The form-based user interface is a type of interface which provide the input data ability with a limited choice of input
  • The menu-driven user interface is providing a short list of choices for users to easily navigate
  • Touch user interface: used mainly in smartphone or tablet and provide touch input
  • Voice user interface: Provide the ability to control and navigate through the device with voice commands (Indeed, 2022).
Meta tags – is a hidden HTML code which provides the contents of the web page to the search engines with the general information of the page and the copyright description. Though is hiding from the user it still can be found throughout the page inspection (PCMAG, 2022).

A hyperlink is an object in the document which allows the user to move from one place to another within a document or to a different document by clicking the object which can be an image or word. When the hyperlink is linked to the word is usually highlighted with an underline and styled in blue colour (Techterms, 2022).



jQuery is an open-sourced library created by John Resig and realised to the public in January 2006. Is the most popular JavaScript library (not a programming language) which helps provides and simplify the functionality of the JavaScript code.

The main advantage of using jQuery:

  • Improving work with Document Object Model (DOM) by simplifying search and manipulating the elements.
  • Improve and makes the animations match easier to work with.
  • Have great Ajax support which massively improves template development also jQuery use Ajax to transfer data between the browser without refreshing the web page.
  • A strong open-source community provides great plug-in support (Gillis, 2019)(Jquery, 2022)



Page Source – it is original text code included in HTML tags created by the author of the web page. The main purpose of the source code is to provide the functionality, look, and user experience for the site (Brain, 2022).
