Alt Tags and Title Tags are topics of today's blog. We will try to understand the purpose of these tags, how they work, and where we can find them. Also, we try to understand if they have any impact on search engine optimization (SEO) and if is actually important to use them on the website.
The HTML tags are a special list of words or letters placed in angle brackets and used to create elements in HTML for example paragraphs or links. HTML elements can include attributes that provided additional information about the element, and they are always provided in the start tag (W3schools,2019).
Title Tags are an element of HTML that specified the title of the web page that is shown in a browser or a page tab and is also used by the search snippet in a search engine results page. Title tags play an important role as they use by the search engine to determine what your website is about and also provide the page information to the viewer through the organic search result. They are three main points where the title tags are used:
- Search engine results page
- Web browsers
- Social networks
Title tags play a very important role in search engine optimization and search user experience and are crucial to making sure that they are created in the right way so that they could be fully used by SEO (MOZ, 2022).

The Alt tag is an attribute of an image that provides an image short description in case images are not displayed by the browser. As the web browser is not able to read the image the alt tags also provide the description or mining to the search engine about the image, it is also used by the web readers to describe the image for those who cannot process the image (W3schools, 2019) (BigCommerce, 2022).

Alt tags and Title tags play important role in HTML code which are used across search engines and user experience. They are key factors to determine the purpose of the web page and help the web browser read and determine the mining of the image. It is very important to set the title tags properly as they are read by the browser and displayed the content through the organic search result in the same time alt tags provide information about an image in case the browser is not able to display it. The roles they play make a big difference to the website and the user experience which cannot be compromised.
